The delegation alleged that after the installation of smart meters, electricity bills have surged drastically—reportedly increasing by more than three times in many cases.

Financial burden on middle and lower-income households
According to party leaders, consumers are facing continuous harassment due to faulty billing systems and poor grievance redressal mechanisms.
